Abstract Waves Painting Series from Janet Gervers
The Wave Series of abstract paintings have kept going and are still in production!
Blue Shimmer is featured at the top here, an acrylic on medium sized canvas, that brings my paintings closer to full fruition. I started with some seriously miniature paintings a few years ago, 3×5 in on the average and gradually brought my paintings up in size.
It’s always fun to work on the smaller ones and I fell like it’s a must to do something with my leftover paint, so that’s how Shimmer, happened (on left).
Iconic Painting on Wood
Working with some more iconic subjects, 2Hearts (on right) is another new medium sized painting on wood. My paintings are typically on canvas and some on smaller gesso boards and this one is the first larger scale painting on wood.
About My Painting Method
In case you’re interested in how it’s done, it’s a combination of larger brushes and a big palette knife, where paint can be loaded up on it. It’s very spontaneous and in the moment.
A Glimpse Into the Artist’s Studio aka Art Currently in Production
It’s rare that I will show art currently in production on my website, and this is an instance where you get a preview of my art before it’s done. This acrylic on canvas is 30 x 40 in so it’s the biggest painting yet in recent history. A finished piece will be posted when it’s complete.
Contact me if you’re interested in viewing these paintings or showing them in your space.

As an Artist, Art Collector and Art Curator it’s important to me that art is accessible to people at all levels of income. I chose the Fine Art America quality platform to showcase my art and make it available to all, whether it’s fine art prints, home decor such as pillows, accessories and original works of art.
Art in one’s home makes it a unique space and adds character. I love buying art from local artists and viewing it on my walls or in the case of ceramics and sculpture on a table or shelf. Everyone deserves to beautify their space in a unique way – and art is the best method for that in my opinion.
How about a pillow on your sofa that has a painting, preferably one of mine? Once the original is sold, there is still a way for art buyers to enjoy it for their home or as a gift.
On the Fine Art America website, you will find a very select grouping of my photographs and paintings that are ready for purchase and enjoyment in your space!

Janet Gervers is included in a group Invitational Art Exhibit in Venice at Electric Lodge on September 17, 2016 from 6-9pm.
The One Night Only show, Pop Up Pop, showcases innovative Los Angeles Artists reinterpreting Pop Art for the 21st Century by the Museum of Right Now.
The exhibit is a turning point for Janet Gervers; her primary painting focus is on abstract art, with her recent Wave Series exhibited in several shows in the past year. While it was exciting being invited to participate in a Pop Art themed show, it represented a challenge as a new style of art for exploration and experimentation.
Janet’s new series of paintings are literally straight out of the tube; the paint tube that is – in bold colors on acrylic fine art paper with a focus on the iconic image of the eye, all seeing with many interpretations. The “EYEcon” series paintings contain an element of abstraction and bold expressiveness derived from Ms. Gervers’ abstract painting style, leading to a completely new look.
Come see for yourself at the 1 Night Only Pop Up Pop art exhibit in Venice! The art here is a preview from the show. There will be other new experimental pieces from Ms. Gervers that add a reuse and recycle sensibility to her abstract paintings.

Janet Gervers abstract paintings were included in several exhibits in 2015 and 2016, which marked the return of her painting. Janet’s an abstract painter and after a time away from her art where most of her time was spent on the computer, it was time to delve back into art.
Notably, Janet Gervers was included in the invitational art exhibit by VICA, Venice Institute of Contemporary Art, curated by Venice Artist and VICA Founder, Juri Koll. The exhibition featured Venice artists in “Venice Here and Now”, from October 29 – December 29, 2015 at NextSpace Venice. In addition, a Silent Auction was held on December 10 as a benefit for VICA.
Two paintings from Janet’s Wave Painting series were included in the exhibit.
In 2016, the two Wave Paintings plus several more were exhibited at the Venice Art Crawl, a monthly popup art show in Venice at NextSpace Venice.
