Janet Gervers’ abstract paintings are chosen to be in the upcoming Spectrum exhibit at BG Gallery in Santa Monica from June 15 – July 5, 2019. The annual Spectrum exhibit is the most popular and well attended show at the gallery, located at 3009 Ocean Park in Santa Monica’s new Gallery Row. The juried group show features talented artists from the Los Angeles area.

As an Artist, I couldn’t be more excited to showcase my paintings at one of my favorite galleries showcasing contemporary art in Santa Monica! It’s a dream come true and has been a long time in coming! While I’ve been in juried and invitational art shows in recent years in Hollywood, Venice and Culver City, this is a first in my adopted hometown of Santa Monica at a gallery I truly admire!

Several paintings of mine will be shown for the first time. The painting featured here, Blue Shimmer was recently exhibited at The Hollywood Sculpture Garden and Gallery.

For the past four years, I’ve been working steadily on my paintings, developing my current style that uses huge swaths of paint using a palette knife and a variety of brushes, creating texture filled canvases. I’m pursuing an art career finally!

I studied Graphic Design in college at the University of Cincinnati and love creating graphics and websites, something I’m known for by many people, however, now it’s time to add Artist and Art Career to my repertoire.

I plan on being at the opening and at select times throughout the run of the show. If you’d like to see my art when I’m present, please make an appointment via my Connect page.
