I’m Janet Gervers, a Delray Beach Abstract Artist. I’m inviting you to my current art shows.

The first one is titled, Art Blossoms”  in Lake Worth, FL at Artist’s Eye Gallery that  is blooming with art and includes artists in  Lake Worth Art League.

The opening is on Sunday, March 15th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. The exhibit runs from March 10th to April 3rd. You will see on view three of my works of art. You’ll see two of my last pieces that I created when I lived in  Santa Monica, California,  including: “Golden Palm”, acrylic on canvas and “Electric Eye”, a brilliant purple abstract I created with acrylic marker on canvas.

The third piece is a painting called “It’s Golden” from a couple of years ago, a piece to uplift your senses for sure. join us for an explosion of creativity that’s a visual feast for the eyes. This artwork was also exhibited at my last show in California, at BG Gallery in Santa Monica at Bergamot station. All the artworks are available for purchase.

The Artist’s Eye Gallery was recently voted  as third place for best art gallery in Palm Beach County in the “Palm Beach Post” people’s choice awards. Lake Worth Art League is an artist run co-op with numerous talented artists  in the Palm Beach area who volunteer their time to run the gallery, exhibits, classes and special events.

My next art show opens on April 3rd at the Creative Arts School, in Old School Square, in the creative heart of Delray Beach, Fl. The art show is titled “Spring to Art” and will starts with an opening on Friday, April 3, from  6:00-9:00. The exhibit ends Saturday, May 23.

It’s a juried show for Art Connect Palm Beach Members. This is the first art organization that I joined since moving from the Los Angeles area. It’s afforded numerous opportunities for me, including first Friday pop-up exhibits  at the Cornell Art Museum and exhibits at the Fairfield Inn, Delray Beach among others.

This exhibit features one of my last art pieces that I painted when I still lived in Santa Monica, CA, called “Pineapple Heart”. I painted this after I knew I would be moving to Delray Beach. There’s an art area adjacent to Old School Square named Pineapple Grove in downtown Delray Beach; the idea came to me to combine a heart with a pineapple as a symbol of where I would be next.

My second art piece that you will see is an exuberant painting called “Gold Dance”. It features dancing waves of metallic gold and sparkling pearl acrylic paint that really dance across the canvas. The interesting thing about the metallic gold paint is that it changes with the light. either way it’s meant to uplift the viewer. there’s enough darkness in this world and I hope for all my paintings to uplift and elevate your mood. Paintings are available for purchase.

Thanks to Donnalynn RIley for coming and bringing her sister Joanne, Emily Mack and my husband Tryg Hanson. Plus, the roller skater and her cute papillon dog!

Thanks to Art Connect Palm Beach for the opportunity and the Cornell Art Museum, plus Downtown Delray Development for sponsoring the monthly First Friday Art Walk Event.

Miami Art Basel Week  2024:
Artist Janet Gervers Joins
Gato Gordo Gallery at Red Dot Art Fair, Dec 4-8, 2024

Last year was my first foray into Miami Art Basel week, with my art and the Spectrum Art Fair.  I was part of a group of international artists at in the Artbox booth from Zurich, Switzerland. This year my art is in the Red Dot Art Fair in the Gato Gordo Gallery, booth 310.

When you go you’ll be surrounded by a jungle of cat themed art  throughout the booth at the request of the Gato Gordo Gallery in Miami, for  cat inspired art, (based on their name in Spanish).  I decided to create a fun and whimsical piece, called King Kitty inspired by a photo of my niece Carolyn’s cat named Poncho.

I created my artwork using Posca acrylic art markers on canvas. The bright color scheme reminds me of Miami with the addition of metallic gold.  I’ve been painting and gold metallics for the past year and a half and carried over the gold theme to this piece.

If you’re interested in seeing my art and attending the Red Dot Art Fair and the Spectrum art Fair, get your  Complimentary Collector Pass below.

Both  art fairs arelocated in the same space at Mana Wynwood.  2217 NW Fifth Ave., and NW 22nd Street, Miami, FL.
